Strafford and Campbell's Nursery
In the middle of this image is Campbell’s Greenhouses and Nursery, south of the Lincoln Highway, which provided local employment to
the nearby Italian community in Devon.
Running behind Campbell’s is the right-of-way of the Philadelphia & Western (P&W) line. From 1911 until 1956, the terminus of the
P&W trolley was located on the west side of Old Eagle School Road, alongside the Strafford PRR Station. After leaving its Sugartown station,
shown on the right, the trolley immediately crossed over a bridge at Sugartown Road and looped over a second bridge at Lancaster Pike, shown on the left.
