Bart discussed a variety of old maps of the Upper Main Line, sharing their stories and how their changes over time show the growth of our area. In particular, he showed British General William Howe's 1777 Philadelphia campaign "spy" map, the 1873 Witmer and 1883 Breou Farm Atlas township maps, and explored some of the early 20th-century Pennsylvania Railroad town maps. Dave Mackey of the Philadelphia Print Shop in Wayne Pa. displayed many of these maps from his noteworthy collection.

Bart Van Valkenburgh is Vice President and Program Chair of the Tredyffrin Easttown Historical Society, chairman of the Willistown Township Historical Commission, a member of the Paoli Battlefield  Preservation Fund board of directors, a member of the Paoli Memorial Association, and a board member of the Bartram Bridge Joint Preservation Commission. He is an active historian and has prepared and presented numerous informative and entertaining programs for a variety of organizations.
