Mt Zion AME Church in the background.
Our January meeting presentation featured two short video programs concerning local Black history, and background information provided by the creators.
Conestoga High School senior Tanisha Agrawal shared the story behind her video The Berwyn School Fight,
prepared for her very successful National History Day project in 2023, and developed in collaboration with members of TEHS and utilizing
some of the resources we have made available.
Local historian and TEHS board member Bertha Jackmon spoke about her experiences in creating the video
The Cornerstone: Mt. Zion AME Church, Devon — the story and rich legacy of Mt. Zion AME Church in Devon, the oldest African American church on the Main Line,
shown as part of local PBS affiliate WHYY's series Precious Places.
We had time for questions as well as refreshments afterwards.
