Why did Thomas Eakins paint rowers? What great Philadelphia architect left his mark on Boathouse Row? What' the link between firehouses and rowing clubs? And why did it take women rowers 80 years to get to the Olympics? Dotty Brown, author of Boathouse Row, Waves of Change in the Birthplace of American Rowing, will share the answers in her talk — with lots of photos — about the untold history of Boathouse Row.
Dotty Brown is a former reporter and editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer. During her newspaper career, she edited numerous prize-winning projects, including one that won a Pulitzer Prize. She is also a member of the Vesper Boat Club. Visit her online at www.BoathouseRowTheBook.com
